Over Half of Republicans Believe The President isn’t an American

If He Wasn’t Born in the U.S. or Naturalized The President Must Be an Illegal Alien

Less than half of Republicans believe that Barack Obama was born in the United States of America, a new public opinion poll finds.

Only 42 percent of Republican respondents in a Research 2000 survey, conducted for the liberal website Daily Kos, said they thought Obama was a natural born citizen; 28 percent said they did not believe Obama was born in the United States; 30 percent said they were not sure.

Is Republican base just woefully ignorant? It doesn’t take a firm understanding of politics to answer that question. Anyone remember “drill baby drill”, the slogan of the 2008 RNC, even though drilling would have almost no effect on gas prices, ten years from now? I must say, while I find their race baiting abhorrent, I do enjoy watching this sinking ship. It looks the GOP’s tried and true ‘Southern Strategy” is finally backfiring. The Right must think independent voters are as stupid as they are.

  1. I think it's seriously laughable that these clowns are pursuing this tack so thoroughly. Really? Is this it? The best you can do you whiny little turds? Come on!

  2. Oh those wacky birthers. I have to imagine after 8 years of what many consider the worst president of all time who was one of their own, they're desperate for anything they can latch on to that weakens the credibility of our current leadership. If all they have to focus on is the legitimacy of a birth certificate which has been proven to be legitimate, I'd say that's a resounding good job so far for Obama.

  3. So where do they 'believe' that he was born ? Do tell us! Show us some (and here comes a dirty word, you won't like it republicans, but here it is) facts!
