  1. 😦

    I don't get it.

I know she was famous for saying let them eat cake…but…yeah.

  2. She was a symbol of upper class greed and excess at the time. "Let them eat cake" showed how out of touch she was thought to be (in reality she never said it).

"Let them eat Advil" is in the context of the health care debate. I wanted to make an analogy between today, and times past. It is the same struggle, the rich are getting richer and the rest of us continue to suffer.

As a new diabetic, my insurance will not cover my insulin, while my insurance company’s CEO takes home an $11 million dollar salary.

  3. Ohhh I see. Sorry, don't let my ignorance be a bad reflection on the cleverness of your joke. I just didn't make the connection at first.

You've recently been diagnosed with Type II? That's a major bummer…my sympathies. Maybe if the Democrats can grow a spine and a pair of testicles we can get something done to help people in situations like yours.

  4. Haha no worries, glad you think it is clever, I certainly did.

No, type 1. I'm insulin dependant and not over weight at all. My father has it, and he got his at 26 years and 8 months. Just like me, almost to the day. Genetics are crazy, I wonder what a creationist would think about that.
