Obama is Going To Seize Power and Rule Us Like a King

A Sad Website from Sad People

The fact we have a democratic and (more importantly) African American president has been fueling a murderous rage for almost a year now. Since the election of Barack Obama, this rage has driven the far right to an obsession with the idea of a bloody revolution in the United States. This is a hypocrisy which I’ve pointed out many times, so I won’t dwell on it here. However, I have found another over the top example of this treasonous fantasy I’d like to share.

The United State of Earth – 2011 Obama’s Failed Coup: The site features a future time line starting with Obama’s attempt to permanently seize power, a second civil war, fake news, and a game where you can lead a revolutionary army against the legitimate and duly elected government. The war is fought county by county across the United States.

The fake news section offers a tale of Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh being found dead in a liberated FEMA concentration camp. You can read about right wing talk radio hosts, bloggers, former military officers, and Ted Nugent leading armies against the president and liberal members of congress. They are all essentially the same story. [Right Wing Kook X]’s army captures [Liberal Y] who is an freedom-stealing-America-hating-marxo-commie-facist-Hitler-lover and is subjected to [Sadistic Humiliation Z]. Of course, getting to the outlaw liberals is never easy as they are often guarded by the armies of Hamas, Americorps volunteers, intercity children, homosexuals, and Obama loyalists.

Where were these people when President Bush was actually taking away American liberties, expanding the federal government, and doubling our national debt?

At home. Why? It’s about race.

Very Telling Comment Shines Light on the Fringe

I take part in another blog, called FreeSerfs, in which I debate issues with a libertarian. I haven’t in months though, as let’s face it, debating a libertarian is an exercise in futility. This morning, I received a comment on an old post, that I also posted on The New Atheist. The comment read:

You are obtuse, and in a few years this nation will be in the depths of a bloody revolt that will make the French Revolution look like a Sunday picnic. I look forward to it. – George Taylor

The truth comes out. He “looks forward” to a bloody revolt, one where certainly many innocent people and patriots would die. I’m amazed out how easily these people would do away with our democracy in the name of their “lost freedoms”. Do they think that after their little coup d’etat, after their installed strong man takes power that we will simply return to the old system as if nothing has happened? Of course not, and even if we somehow set an unheard of precedent, what happens when another man they don’t like is elected? It is a scary prospect that the most armed, least educated portion of our society is so willing to support the violent death of the “last, best hope for man on Earth”.

Mr. Taylor’s comments show just how out of touch the angry right is. I believe they only serve to hurt the Republicans in the long run. Independent voters have abandoned the GOP for the time being, and I don’t imagine Obama’s head on spike would do nothing to garner the support of the moderate middle. They, like me, don’t want to see our great history usurped by a fringe movement.

It is becoming more and more apparent that the radical opposition to President Obama is really just about race. They say they want their freedoms back, as if anything has really changed. Where were they during the patriot act debate? I don’t remember violent town halls then. They say they want their country back, from who? Is the United States not President Obama’s (a black man) country too? It is, but they refuse to believe it. These people believe that the POTUS is destroying the country, on purpose. What is their strategy for dealing with this unfounded belief? Actually destroy the country.

To the American Right: Just be honest in your opposition. Stop insulting everyone’s intelligence. Thanks for reading.

GOP Candidate Suggests She will Turn to Violence to Achieve Political Means

Using Violence to Advance a Political Agenda, Don’t We Call That Terrorism?

“We have the chance to fight this battle at the ballot box before we have to resort to the bullet box… That’s the beauty of our 2nd Amend rights.”

– Catherine Crabill, the Republican Party’s nominee for Virginia’s 99th District in the House of Delegates

Sure, the violence rather than democracy school of thought may excite the Right’s base, but will it help them at all with the middle? I guess we will see in 2010. How can these people call themselves patriots? Imagine if a liberal called for violence against the government during the Bush years.

Also, this women believes the government had a role in the Oklahoma City Bombing. I’m sure she is a 9/11 truther also, but it is just too soon to publically admit that and still be elected to office. Virgina, be proud.

Murder Suspects Spoke of Starting a Revolution Against the U.S. Government

A man and his nine year old daughter are the latest victims in the string of hate crimes that have changed the national debate. It will come as no surprise that this Hispanic family’s murderers were white supremacists with ties to the controversial “Minute Men”, vigilantes who “patrol” (get drunk) at the border looking for illegal immigrants to “detain” (rough up).

According to local law enforcement, three people posing as police officers forced their way into the home of Raul Flores in Arivaca, Arizona, about 10 miles from the Mexican border, on May 30. They shot and killed Flores and his nine-year-old daughter, and wounded Flores’ wife. The three, Shawna Forde, Jason Bush, and Albert Gaxiola, were arrested and charged last Thursday and Friday.

But here’s where it gets interesting: Forde’s brother, Merrill Metzger, has told the Arizona Daily Star that Forde had been talking recently about “starting a revolution against the United States government,” and had said she planned to recruit members of the Aryan Nations as part of a plan to rob drug cartels.

It sounds like Forde had started putting that plan into action. Bush, accused of being the triggerman in the killing, was also charged Friday in the 1997 murder of a sleeping Hispanic homeless man in Washington, reports the paper. According to law enforcement authorities in the state, Bush “has had long-standing ties to the Aryan Nations.” In 2003, they say, Bush moved to the Sandpoint area of northern Idaho, a historic center of white supremacist activity.

Guess that DHS report wasn’t so off after all, was it Rupert?

How is the stimulus oppressive? What unfunded mandates are they talking about? How exactly is the Obama administration intruding in state affairs? Wait, did Sean Hannity just call the government (code word for Obama) arrogant? This is the guy who spent 8 years defending Bush’s arrogance. It took him three years of the war going terribly to finally listen to his commanders’ call for more troops. Meanwhile, people were dying. If thats not arrogance, I don’t know what is. Remember before the Iraq war started, when just disagreeing with the President was called treason by the right. I wonder what they would have said if California threaten to secede over disagreement about the war. Oh, and by the way, according to a new poll, 48% of the Texas GOP supports secession, 48% do not, 2% undecided. The democrats on the other hand are spilt, 15% support secession, 82% saying in the union, with 3% undecided. Who are the traitors now you shameless hypocrites? Never thought I’d say it, but props to Geraldo

Zombie Lincoln Re-Animates to Whoop Some Ass

Texas Gov. Rick Perry speaking before a “large” crowd (about 20% of the crowd at any given Spurs game) said that secession is an option if the federal government continues it’s fiscal polices. Gov. Perry recently accepted the second largest amount of stimulus funds from the evil federal government, $5,139,542,000, second only to California. President Davis, er, Governor Perry’s comments aren’t the first time he’s chosen to attach his name to divisive, some would say treasonous ideals. A week ago Mr. Perry endorsed a resolution in the Texas legislature reasserting state sovereignty over federal mandates. The bill read..

“…all compulsory federal legislation that directs states to comply under threat of civil or criminal penalties or sanctions or that requires states to pass legislation or lose federal funding be prohibited or repealed.”

Well I bet Texas citizens are happy that the stimulus wasn’t ‘compulsory’, or they would have been exceptionally disgruntled I’m sure. “No, don’t give us our tax dollars back to jump start the tanking economy, states’ rights, states’ rights!” Personally, I’m shocked that ANY governor would suggest such a thing, I mean I realize hes pandering to the fringe of his base, but are such ideas so prevent in Texas as to make up a solid voting bloc? I guess my question is, whats up with Texas anyway?

Also, I like how the right has been trying to label the left as traitors for years, but the instant they lose the White House, they are calling for violent revolution, secession for the union, something sure to lead to Civil War, and that wasn’t so great the first time. Isn’t participating in any attempt to violently over throw of our republic the definition of treason? Oh the hypocrisies are as ridiculous as they are many. Chuck Norris is thrilled, saying that should Texas gain its independence he would run for President of Texas.

“I may run for president of Texas. That need may be a reality sooner than we think. If not me, someone someday may again be running for president of the Lone Star state, if the state of the union continues to turn into the enemy of the state. There thousands of (terrorist?) cell groups will be united around the country in solidarity over the concerns for our nation, anyone who has been around Texas for any length of time knows exactly what we’d do if the going got rough in America.”

So I guess ‘patriot’ Norris is only in it until the stimulus cash dries up, or until recession, war, disaster, or any other time the ‘going [gets] rough’. Awesome.

U.S. House Member Calls for Violent Revolution

People from the Great State of Minnesota Embarrassed Almost Daily

I could be wrong, but after the 2000 election, I don’t remember any prominent democratic commentators or officials calling for the violent overthrow of the Bush administration. This was of course an election Mr. Bush lost (but still won the Presidency). President Obama won the popular vote by 7%, and he received over double the electoral votes as Senator McCain. Yet, this has not stopped some on the political right from calling for violent revolution in the United States. From citizen revolts, military coups, to seceding from the Union, there has a been a chorus of calls for open treason. Notorious Minnesota representative Michelle Bachmann (pictured), launched to fame after calling for McCarthy-era investigations into the ‘anti-american’ members of congress in October 2008. Ms. Bachmann has outdone herself, this time calling for the people of the United States to be “armed and dangerous” in their opposition to the President’s agenda. Here are some of the more treasonous statements Ms. Bachmann made last week on several different ‘news’ outlets..

“At this point the American people – it’s like Thomas Jefferson said, a revolution every now and then is a good thing. We are at the point, Sean, of revolution. And by that, what I mean, an orderly revolution — where the people of this country wake up get up and make a decision that this is not going to happen on their watch. It won’t be our children and grandchildren that are in debt. It is we who are in debt, we who will be bankrupting this country, inside of ten years, if we don’t get a grip. And we can’t let the Democrats achieve their ends any longer.”

Any longer? Its been 2 months, and already she is ready to throw out the greatest example of the peaceful transition of power of any government throughout history? Ironically, a peaceful precedence set by Jefferson. Is she really ready to burn that shining city on a hill? Sadly, it appears so. She continued..

“Right now I’m a member of Congress. And I believe that my job here is to be a foreign correspondent, reporting from enemy lines. And people need to understand, this isn’t a game. This isn’t just a political talk show that’s happening right now. This is our very freedom, and we have 230 years, a continuous link of freedom that every generation has ceded to the next generation. This may be the time when that link breaks. And I’m going to do everything I can, I know you are, to make sure that we keep that link secure. We cannot allow that link to break, because as Reagan said, America is the last great hope of mankind..”

Only someone as tone deaf as Ms. Bachmann could sport these blinders. Does she not see the hypocrisy of talking about the great democratic tradition of America shortly after advocating that our process should be usurped by the minority? I mean come on, did she just say being a member of congress put her behind enemy lines? What happened to ‘Country First’? Sadly, for some, country has taken a backseat to ideology.

As an American, I am appalled by Representative Bachmann’s calls for the unilateral destruction of our great democracy. As a liberal, I’m loving ever minute of it, as Ms. Bachmann’s statements have come at a time when it seems the Republican party is struggling daily to make itself look even worse than it did just the day before. 19 page budget anyone? I suspect we won’t have to hear about this kook anymore after the 2010 election, but I’ve been wrong before.
